Turnament Devlog Nr. 25 - Level Editor Now Available 🔨

Howdy fellow worldcrafters 🔨

You can now create levels in the Turnament demo!

Once you're done with a level, you may even upload them for others to play (but only after winning the level yourself).

You can play levels by others by selecting "Player Levels" in the main menu. Be sure to leave a heart for levels you enjoyed. 💛

Music is still missing from the level editor, this will be fixed closer to launch when all the music is done.

Check out the level editor in the free demo on Steam:

Some tips:

  • You have 30 level spots, just click on "Load" and select any number to edit.
  • You can change certain settings by left-clicking on objects (projectiles, seekers, creators).
  • You can add broken fields (those gray squares) everywhere, even below objects. You can't open settings while broken fields are selected.
  • You need to win a level before you can upload it.

I tried hard to make it as intuitive as possible, let me know if anything is uncertain or unwieldy.

Also, since my last post, the following happened:

  • Level editor: Added drag & drop for objects
  • Level editor: Added tool for copying objects
  • Level editor: Confirmation window when trying to delete a level
  • Don't allow clicking on buttons when other menus are active
  • Various smaller fixes
  • I made a bunch of test maps in the editor and uploaded them, some are performance tests, others are testing smaller things, so don't go in expecting too much when you see my levels in there. :D

This demo update contains all changes since the last update in June, so other areas of the game have been slightly improved as well.

Let me know what you think about the level editor, either in the comments, in the discord, or via email: muddasheep@gmail.com

Thanks, and have a nice weekend!
